Text Box: During the last school year, the Counseling Center provided Teen Depression and Suicide Awareness programs to eight area high schools ( Wooster, Smithville, Rittman, Northwestern, Norwayne, Chippewa, Hiland and West Holmes) plus the Creston Middle School.  Over 1000 students participated in the general education program which is typically offered in health classes. Following the actual classes, 100 students received individual consultations with a member of the Counseling Center staff. Unrecognized and untreated depression is one of the primary reasons that suicide is the second highest cause of death among teens.
