Text Box: RETIREMENTS ANNOUNCED

Text Box: It is with regret that the Counseling Center announces the retirement of two long-term Center employees.  Retiring after 19 years as a Rehabilitation Assistant in the Psychosocial Rehabilitation program is Jackie Dearth.  Jackie was primarily responsible for designing and implementing social and recreational programming for persons with severe and persistent mental illness.
Also retiring is Rob Schlegel, B.A., L.S.W., Community Psychiatric Support Social Worker, who has focused for a number of years on working with the organization’s Amish clientele.  Rob was originally employed by the Center from 1987 to 1993 as a case manager and returned in 1999.  In total he has worked for the Center for 15 years. Rob will be replaced by Mark Dal Pra, M.A., L.P.C.C., who is currently working in the Counseling Center’s Specialized Children’s
Services Unit.  Both retirees were honored at a recent staff reception.

Text Box: The Center is currently carrying a waiting list of over 300 persons. While every effort is made to provide timely assessment services and determine specific client needs, the access for specialized programming – especially home-based intervention for children and youth, on-going counseling, residential care and psychiatric care can be temporarily difficult.  Hiring efforts are underway and much of the current backlog should be successfully addressed within in the next several months.
