According to a recent survey of Counseling Center staff, 99% report that they enjoy the tasks that are part of their job.  In addition, 95% or more report that they believe that the organization is a good place to work, that they feel a sense of accomplishment in their job, that the staff in their program help and support each other, and that they are enthusiastic about their work.

Text Box:  · Less than one-third of the children under 18 with a serious emotional disturbance receive mental health treatment. 
· In Ohio, caseloads for treatment providers are three to four times the recommended levels in many areas of the state. 
· Insurance coverage for mental health treatment is often limited or does not exist.
As the primary mental health provider in Wayne and Holmes counties, the Counseling Center serves over 3,500 persons per year.
Text Box: MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH MONTH

Text Box: May is set aside to remember those in our families and communities who suffer with some form of mental illness.  It is a good time to consider such facts as the following: 
· As many as 1 in 5 Americans will suffer from mental illness in any given year.   
· Major depression is the leading cause of disability in the United States. 
· Suicide accounts for more deaths than homicide. 
· Up to half of all visits to primary care physicians are due to conditions caused or exacerbated by mental or emotional problems.

Text Box: During the month of March the Center admitted 206 new persons to service.  This is more than one admission for each hour that the organization is open! 

RETIREMENT
