MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH MONTH

May is designated as Mental Health Month. A good time to consider that:

¨ Major depression is the leading cause of disability in the United States

¨ Less than 1/3 of the children with a serious emotional disturbance receive any treatment

¨ Suicide accounts for more deaths annually than homicide

¨ The Counseling Center provided mental health services to over 3,900 local residents in the last year

Happy retirement to Bea Patterson, Donna Hughes & Mid Butzer

The Counseling Center congratulates three staff members on their recent retirements.  Retiring from the Finance Program is Bea Patterson, insurance specialist.  Patterson, who has worked with insurance credentialing and billing for 21 years, will be replaced by Marilyn Pauli.  Retiring from the Clerical Support staff is technical typist/word processing specialist, Donna Hughes.  Hughes has been employed for 23 years.  Jessica Collins has assumed the duties of this position.  Mid Butzer retires as Medical Records Clerk after 7 years with the agency.  Nancy Fisher, who currently works part-time in Medical Records and part-time in the Rittman office will assume these duties.
