Text Box: ANNUAL REPORT HIGHLIGHTS
 
The Counseling Center recently completed the annual report for the year ending June 30, 2008.  Some of the highlights from the year include:
 
· reaching 1,088 adolescents with depression awareness and suicide prevention training
· providing crisis intervention of 1,181 different persons and facilitating over 400 public or private emergency hospital admissions
· accessing approximately $800,000 in medication assistance for indigent persons in need of medication to control psychiatric symptoms
· documenting statistically significant improvement in both adult and child clients
· processing 2,369 admissions – 192 per month
· achieving a 97% customer satisfaction rating
· earning a national award for best practices in customer satisfaction
 
At the same time, the Center
 
· carried a waiting list for care that ranged from 72 to 315 persons and averaged  164
· maintained a psychiatric caseload more than double the national average

Text Box: PARENT PROJECT
A new session of the Center’s much acclaimed Parent Project program will begin on October 9.  The 10-session evening program will be held at Wooster United Methodist Church and is focused on helping families with an aggressive or out-of-control adolescent.  Outcomes reports indicate high family satisfaction and improved family life for members who complete the program.  For more information contact Joy Stitzlein, Director of Community Education at 330-264-9029.

Text Box: CEO ELECTED TO CHAIR INSURANCE BOARD
Susan Buchwalter, Ph.D., President and CEO of the Center, has been elected as the Chair of the Board for the Mental Health Risk Retention Group (MHRRG).  MHRRG is a national insurance company, headquartered in Vermont, that provides comprehensive general and professional liability insurance to mental health provider organizations.  Buchwalter has served on the board of this group since 2000.
